Meet the team

The Lewisham Training Kitchen is a whole community project run in partnership between Chartwells, Lewisham Council and Phoenix Community Housing.

 

Chartwells are part of the Compass Group, and are the leading catering company for schools in the UK. In Lewisham, Chartwells provides over 16,000 healthy school meals for students and staff every day. 

James Small

Senior Food Development and Training Manager

From winning a Time Out London Cheap Eats award to cooking in Michelin-starred establishments, James is a chef through and through. A member of the Craft Guild of Chefs, he has a real passion for growing, cooking and eating with the seasons, and is never far away from a local farmers market or his own beehives.

 

In his current role he oversee's the menu development and training for  80 Chartwells London schools and directs the Lewisham Training Kitchen.
